Is My Car a Lemon and Hard To Sell?

Are you concerned your car is going to be hard to sell in Brisbane?

Is it a lemon?

This is hard to say – depending on your definition of lemon car.

I would put lemon cars into three categories.

Firstly, you have probably heard of those unfortunate people who buy a new car, drive it, and it is just not quite right.

They return it numerous times under new car warranty but one thing leads to another and it causes headaches both during and after the new car warranty.

For whatever the reason, some new cars are just lemons off the production lines.

Not many – I would say a very small percentage of new cars, but this is nothing but pure bad luck.

Secondly, there are those cars with significant mechanical or structural damage.

Although some problems can be masked up – e.g. additives in automatic faulty transmission cases, these temporary fixes will not trick the trained eye/ear.

As for body work, some cars may be ex write-off “cut and shut” jobs.

I will write a blog post on this next week – I know someone personally who got jipped like this on the Gold Coast with a Holden Barina.

So apart from lemons that have mechanical or body problems there are then those cars that just don’t sell well.

Mitsubishi Magna is one such model.

It is a shame because they are actually a pretty sound car.

But are generally hard to sell.

Sure lemon is a tough call, but it is what it is!

Even the best selling cars (e.g. Mazda 3) take on average over a month to sell privately.

But some cars just take an eternity.

Experience tells me exactly which makes/models these are and the list is too long to note here.

But no matter what car you have to sell in Brisbane, call me on 0411 362 229 because I pay cash for cars every day in Brisbane. Yours may not be such a lemon!
