Don’t Try and Sell a Stolen Car in Brisbane

Well not to me anyway!

I haven’t had this happen for ages now.

But it just happened again this week.

Someone came in trying to sell a stolen car in Brisbane and brought it to me to look at with the view to buying off him.

This guy called me and said he was driving down from Toowoomba today to sell his car in Brisbane.

So far nothing too far out of the ordinary because I often buy cars from both in and around Brisbane.

When he turned up, he looked dodgy.

But hey, first impressions are not always accurate.

When he was talking to me he kept his hands in his pockets and hardly met my eye.

He was also a bit jittery.

More alarm bells.

But the real clincher for me was he had no answers to any of my questions.

Or a simple crash course in NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) would tell you what he was telling me, he was making up on the spot.

Simple questions any legitimate seller would answer in a heartbeat.

Like “Why are you selling your car today?

“When was it last serviced and what have you done to it over the past few years?

He even stumbled on “How long have you owned the car?”

So I did something EVERYONE should do before buying a car.

I ran a government report called a PPSR which you can read about here.

Just as I suspected, it was listed on the stolen car register.

I came out of my office and told him this – and in the most polite fashion told him to *$#@ off!

No I didn’t dob him in – this may have caused more problems.

Idiots like this will just easily undo themselves given time.

So please if you are trying to offload a stolen car in Brisbane, please DO NOT CALL 0411 362 229! However if you are legit, by all means I’d love to hear from you 🙂
