Cheap Cars In Brisbane

I buy and sell cheap cars in Brisbane every day.

The whole idea of me penning my thoughts like this on the cash for cars Brisbane website here is to make people maybe like you who don’t do it often, be aware of how this process can work.

Feel free to browse through all my other blog posts and see how this affects your buying or selling decision.

What makes a cheap car?

Depending who you ask this definition could be wide and varied.

Cheap because compared to other cars it will cost less to buy?

Cheap because it is older?

Cheap because there is a lot of damage to it?

The word cheap is a funny one – to others it might fit right into the old adage “Cheap and Nasty”.

The idea is to find the balance between price and value.

If you are buying a “cheap” car in Brisbane, be aware it may need a lot of work to bring it up to roadworthy standard.

This is what I do to assess every single car I buy.

I just got off the phone with someone selling me a 1999 Hyundai Excel.

It is a manual – which makes it harder to sell, but also needs 4 new tyres, has an engine leak, and the interior is ripped.

So to me, what you say cheap means?

My answer is not even $100 is cheap.

Because even if this car was in great condition, I could only get say $2,000 for it.

But if it requires about $1,700 to fix, plus my $100 investment, THEN I have to pay the difference in GST for it, I would make about $100.

So no price is cheap for this sort of car.

But $100 might be cheap to someone else who has time and skills to do it up themselves.

Why am I telling you this story and giving this example of just one of my experiences buying a car in Brisbane?

Because cheap means different things to different people.
