Car Insurance

Just why is car insurance important?

I’m writing this short post today because of an unfortunate incident that happened late last week with a car I sold.

It was a purple Ford XR6.

A beautiful looking car in perfect condition and it was sold for about $8,000.

The lady was driving down from north Qld to come and pick it up.

She had a friend drive her down and they were driving back up from Brisbane in convoy over a few days.

Sadly after only an hour heading up north up the freeway, for reasons I don’t know, the car came off the road and was a total write-off.

No significant injuries, but the car was now worth nothing.

After only a few hours.

Luckily she had insured it prior to pickup.

It amazes me how many people do not insure their cars before picking them up.

They just forget about it.

The lady I’m talking about was in a one-car accident and was covered for $8k.

But what if she hit a Ferrari on the way to writing off her own car?

Big trouble!

If I buy your car in Brisbane, don’t forget to cancel your insurance.

I have my own insurance from the moment the car is signed by you, to me.

So there is definitely no point leaving (and paying) your insurance cover on the vehicle.

Most insurance companies and their policies will pay you a refund minus an administration fee for what time was left paid up on the policy.

Whilst I am not qualified to offer any advice on insurance, I am able to buy your car. Call me on 0411 362 229.
