Is Gumtree.com.au Any Good To Sell My Car

Following last week’s thoughts on CarSales.com.au, this week I look at the question – Is Gumtree.com.au any good to sell my car?

Gumtree is certainly not for every car.

Nor for every person wanting to sell a car.

There is a lot of riff-raff on there.

When comparing to CarSales.com.au, you might say this is the poor side of town.

Yes it is true.

To place your ad on Gumtree, the advertising is free.

But the catch is as other cars are added to the same category, yours is pushed down the list.

You need to spend $2.99 to “bump up” the ad to bring it back up to the top.

In our experience, Gumtree attracts only buyers who are looking for very CHEAP.

Don’t even bother on here with a car worth more than $1,500.

Even then, expect to get a lot of people replying to your ad via text and email wanting discounts.

We’ve found Gumtree.com.au to also have more fraudulent activity.

What I mean by this is people wanting to pay via Western Union or PyPal but interestingly ask for your details first.

We just ignore these requests. You should too.

I offer you an easy alternative to selling your car on Gumtree.com.au. Call me on 0411 362 229 I can pay cash for cars every day in Brisbane.
